Amo Joy is a four, sometimes three and sometimes five, piece indie psych-pop band from Indianapolis and the latest Indy band to hit the road and export the rock to parts far and wide. Kazoos! Trumpet! Amo Joy is keen on handing out all sorts of merry noisemakers to the audience to keep the toes tapping. 'The Sane Design' is the bands second full-length album.
The cats from Standard will also be bringing some BBQ science for the hungry! Nice Summer party, eh?

Their fifth release is a big
rock album by design. Its idiosyncratic and sincere take
on popular music is reminiscent of David Byrne with whom
Dirty Projectors collaborated on "Knotty Pine" for the
2009 compilation Dark
Was The Night. In many ways, group leader
David Longstreth could be seen as this generation's
answer to Byrne, a distinctive torchbearer of
labyrinthine song arrangements that go down easy.

Debut album from Californian
bedroom disco duo is nothing less than a modern classic.
First single “I Feel Electric” (featuring
Feist) is already a massively popular radio (not to

The self-titled Spinnerette album includes 13 new songs
written by Brody Dalle and produced by Alain Johannes and
is the first Brody Dalle helmed full-length release since
the Distillers' 2003 Coral Fang album. Recorded in Los
Angeles at Pink Duck, the family studio of Joshua Homme
& Brody Dalle, and at 11 AD which is Spinnerette
producer and band member Alain Johnnaes' studio, the band
line-up on the record includes Dalle, Johannes, Tony
Bevilacqua, and Jack Irons.

traveled to Auckland, New Zealand, to participate in an
Oxfam International benefit project. The band began

Against the Machine, the Dixie Chicks). The sextet
completed the disc at its Chicago studio and performed in
April at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival,

was at a First Friday @ the Murphy Bldg. He had
recently shown me his decks and darkroom set up, in
the closet-sized space near Big Car, and had put
some of his photographs up to show and sell that
night--while dropping his usual selection of Mad
Dub.
I saw the above photo, with the Rudeboy tag and the super
dope self-inked backpack, and told him he reminded me of
Jean-Michel Basquiat--only cooler. He laughed...
