+M83 - Saturdays=Youth CD (Mute) For M83's chief stargazer Anthony Gonzalez, his youth is something he looks back upon with affection, something that has become the defining theme of his enchanting new album. Recorded with producer/engineer Ken Thomas (Psychic TV, Sigur Ros, The Sugarcubes, Suede, Clinic, etc.) and Ewan Pearson (Tracey Thorn, The Rapture, Ladytron), Saturdays=Youth delivers the rich sonic textures for which M83 is well known -- this time with a more focused approach to song structure, form and production -- sounding like a lost electro-pop classic from 1983.
+Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! CD (Anti) Last seen under the gleeful guise of 2007's Grinderman, a no-nonsense rock & roll excuse to head down to the basement and shout, Nick Cave now returns to his full time Bad Seeds co-conspirators. "Grinderman was deliberately spare and the concepts were pretty simple," explains Cave. "With Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! we allowed ourselves to get expansive." It picks up where Grinderman left off, filled with Stooge-ified electric guitar, driving beats, and Cave's literate, seductive, and firmly tongue-in-cheek lyrics. +Foals - Antidotes CD/LP+7"+MP3 (Sub Pop) Debut from Oxford, England's five-piece dance-rock band -- completing the circuit between the minimalism of American composer Steve Reich and guitars that sound like insects. Driving percussion high in the mix, guitars played above the twelfth fret, no chords, and splashes of synth color all come together like the schematics for a piece of precision engineering. Includes two bonus tracks exclusive to the US release. The vinyl adds a 7" 45 and an MP3 download.
+Fleet Foxes - Giant Sun CDEP (Sub Pop) Seattle's Fleet Foxes make such complex, harmonic, '70s-inspired folk-rock -- it's hard to believe that the band's principle songwriter is only 21-years-old. Giant Sun is a precursor to the band's debut, Ragged Wood, out in June.
+Jim Noir - Jim Noir CD (Barsuk) Jim's eponymous second album is one of the most expansive pop records you'll hear this year. His music has always been a melange of different styles and influences, and this album sees him delving more into his electronic side and going further with melody and vocals than before. +The Black Keys - Attack & Release CD/LP+CD (Nonesuch) Ditching their low-tech DIY approach, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney hook up with eclectic producer Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, The Grey Album) and record in a real studio, albeit one with awesome vintage equipment. Nice production touches and added instrumentation (piano, organ, moog synthesizer) expand the sonic palette, as do guest spots from members of Tom Waits' band -- Marc Ribot and Ralph Carney (Patrick's uncle). The audiophile vinyl is half-speed mastered and includes a CD copy of the entire album. Available for audition in one of our listening stations.

Ghost-Land Mini Figures
One of the most popular toy manufacturers today, Super7's unique blend of classic Japanese kaiju (monster) toys and modern styling has developed a legion of followers around the world. JOSH RITTER– Live at the 9:30 Club
Josh Ritter returns this spring with the "Small Town USA" tour in support of his highly praised 2007 release, "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter." Named by Entertainment Weekly as one of "The 10 Most Exciting Artists Now," Ritter continues to receive critical acclaim for this, his fourth full-length album. Of the new release, the Washington Post describes it as his "…most freewheeling and satisfying record to date…" while Amazon declares it "…the best album of 2007, hands down, by the most under-accorded American musical genius."
Additionally, a new EP, Live at the 9:30 Club, will be released, featuring songs from the album. Originally broadcast by NPR’s All Songs Considered, the 8-song disc features recordings from Ritter’s sold out DC concert in October 2007. The limited edition EP will be available exclusively at select independent record stores nationwide.

Josh Ritter's self-titled debut (recorded in 1999) has never been available for physical distribution. Therefore, this is an incredible opportunity for independent retail. In addition, the 22 upcoming U.S. shows are only a sketch of the visibility Josh will have in 2008. Josh's fanbase has only grown, as evidenced by his best selling release from last year - "The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter." This is what Josh says about his self-titled debut: "This album was recorded during my senior year at Oberlin College. We worked in a tiny studio on campus, drank beer that I had just turned old enough to buy legally and began taking the first steps along the road I still walk today, eight years later. +++A.A. Bondy - American Hearts
After his former band, Verbena, scored a deal with Capitol Records and put out two releases, Scott Bondy (aka: A.A. Bondy) decided to call it quits and pursue a solo career. 'American Hearts' was recorded at a barn in upstate NY but it is not hard to recognize Bondy's influence from his home state of Alabama. The album managed to land in the hands of several critics who welcomed it with praise garnishing him an appearance on NPR and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Now signed with Fat Possum Records and re-releasing this solo/debut A.A. Bondy will be touring throughout 2008 promoting 'American Hearts' and opening it to a wider audience.”
+++Hayden - In Field & Town
Picked up in the 90s by Geffen offshoot, Outpost Recordings, Hayden was brought into the spotlight with his MTV hit "Bas As They Seem." Staying busy with touring and a slew of singles, EPs, and a popular cut on the 'Trees Lounge' movie soundtrack, Hayden managed to build a cult-like status among his fans throughout the rest of the decade. When Outpost Recordings collapsed, Hayden quietly disappeared into the studio and years later released 'Skyscraper National Park' and 'Elk-Lake Serenade.' His critically acclaimed, fifth full-length studio album, 'In Field & Town,' will be released in America on April 29, 2008. It was recorded and produced by Hayden in his home studios in Ontario, Canada, and has been continuously heralded as the album of his career since its Canadian release in January on his own Hardwood Records.”

Recorded in Berlin, Los Angeles and Paris, 'Jim' takes even further what was started with 'Multiply,' finding the balance between the spontaneous
